Well, It's not a virus, Because I just reformatted bout an hour ago, And I haven't installed anything. I'm not using any Peer to Peer programs at the moment. I'm running Zone Alarm with everything on high security and locked, And I'm also using Sygate Firewall. But still, This IP connects to me. It has been connected to me since before I reformatted. The IP is 64.86.142.32. How do I get rid of him? He's not trying to delete or modify anything. He's just stealing ALL of my internet speed. My downloading speed is decreased by half. What do I do?

  1. It could be a DoS attack done through the ICMP service (they "ping"ing on your computer). It is a bit hidden how to forbid your computer accepting or even responding on such messages, but you'll quickly find it on the Internet.

I won't try providing any link because I'm not sure whether this is really your case and you didn't tell us what operating system you are using.

  2. That IP belongs to:

    AKAMAI TECHNOLOGIES

    8 Cambridge Center

    Cambridge

    MA

    02142

    US

    ISP: Teleglobe

They seem to be a US based company specialising in Web Acceleration  and Performance Management.

Other than what you have done I can't think of anything else unless you have one of their 'acceleration' products installed in which case uninstall it.

If this problem persists you may also wish to contact the company directly and ask them.

    Good Luck

  3. Approach the Police. File a case against this company & Drag them to court. How dare they use YOUR IP as a proxy, WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION !

  4. I would not be surprised if it is YOU connecting to THEM.  OF course, you don't provide anywhere near enough detail to figure this out.  But I would assume it's either some acceleration software, or even more likely your router connecting to a DNS server.
