A challenge to every christian ?

17And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;

18they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."(Mark 16:17-18)

To all who called themselves true christian believers, can U try this and survive.

I believe that these signs were primarily for the apostolic age, before the bible was complete and available in writing. God bore witness with these signs and wonders. I don't think they are needed today, because if one doesn't believe the bible, they won't believe the wonders either and contribute them to whatever their reason tells them. In any case, I don't think it's not impossible, but any Christian should do these only when God wills them to and the Holy Spirit will guide them.

God wills them to drink poison (answer below me).  Come on.  If anything it means if it happened by accident, you would be protected.  Did Jesus jump off the temple to see if God would catch him?

I think that if these circumstances happened to come about and you had to use them then yes it would work.You cannot do it by picking up snakes or drinking poison just to prove it.I once had to defend myself from a dog and i yelled "in Jesus name I command you to leave" and it left me alone.The beginning of verse 17 says "IN MY NAME" and that's the way to do it but you must believe in Christ.

I want to let you know I have seen some of these in my life.

I was a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (aka Mormons) in Brasil.  I have seen, by the proper priesthood authority and by the laying on of hands, people healed of their infirmities.  I have seen the gift of tongues, in my own life, as well as in the lives of many young men my age as we learned to speak Portuguese at an incredible rate.  (I was blessed to be nearly fluent in 4-5 months with no prior Portuguese experience.)

As far as snakes go, I have yet to be bitten, but I know that I have been protected from other forms of harm.  Those promises really do exist.  As the scriptures say, signs will only stop when faith truly dies, if we see no signs, it is because we have no faith.

This is a prophecy... those who are Christians and have chosen God in the End Times will be able to do this.  Try and educate yourself on things like this before posting a question about something you know nothing about.  Then I guess it's easy to mock what you don't understand.  Once again, ignorance is bliss.

Again... it's prophecy and can be cross referenced with Revelations if you care to study it further.  If you are not a Christian why do you care?  I do not need to prove my faith to you or anyone else.  I know my heart, my beliefs, and so does God.  When it's my time for my faith to be tested, He, and only He, will reveal it to me.
