Question:

A cheap but good quality adapter?

I will be traveling to the Ukraine in a few days and I need an adapter to charge electronics. The voltage obviously changes and I am very wary of frying my electronics. Can you suggest some good but cheap adapters, or places to find some?

  1. First, check the power adapter for the electronics you are going to use. The voltage they accept is printed on them (or on the back of the electronics, where you plug the cord in).

If it says 100-240V, then all you need is a simple plug adapter, which can be bought for a few dollars at Walmart, Radio Shack, office supply stores, or most other "super stores".

If it is 110V only, then Radio Shack is your best and most inexpensive bet. But be careful that you purchase a power adapter that supplies enough current for your device. Take it with, and the Radio Shack person will help you select the appropriate one. And you will still need the plug adapter too.
