Question:

A cheap means of transport from Gatwick to London?

I'm from Italy and I would like information about public means of trasport from Gatwick to London. I was told there isn't underground from Gatwick. I'm looking for a cheap and sure solution. I saw on internet, but I'd like your opinion.

Do I need to book in advance on coaches or I will certainly find 3 seats on 10-15 August? (If I book and my easy jet airplane arrive late I'm nor sure what will happen, my ticket probably cannot be use for a successive coach)

Do I have to pay an extra fee for my luggage?

Thank you.

  1. the underground is a long only network but there is still a station right under the south terminal, from the north terminal use the free monorail. Use the southern service instead of the gatwick express for nbot much difference in time and about a £6 saving. There are a few buses for the same journey namely national express and easybus. If you book early and online then easybus should be cheaper. you can buy tickets at the airport too.

This assumes you are going somewhere near to Victoria if not other options may be better. For example there is a door to door shared bus service.

  2. Try EasyBus !

  3. This gives you all the alternatives. The Gatwick Express is cheap and fast, particularly if you travel half fare, but you have other possibilities.

  4. There will always be buses to take you into the centre of town - you will always get a seat, I wouldn't bother booking in advance because there are loads of different companies.  You won't have to pay for your luggage.  Coach is almost certainly the cheapest option.  Other option is to take the Southern train from Gatwick (NOT the Gatwick express).  www.nationalrail.co.uk for train info.

  5. Gatwick Express... no need to book in advance.. pay on board..... takes you to Victoria Station,  numerous transport options from there....

Express Class single is about  ÃƒÂ‚£18 .

  6. Get the thames link into st pancras its only £8.90 single(direct) luggage is free.

  7. There's an EasyJet Shuttle thats really cheap especially if you book online with Easyjet beforehand.

If not, just get on an easyjet shuttle bus when you arrive. they run about every 10/15 minutes. As far as paying extra for your luggage, I dont think so, but with E/J every thing is possible.

  8. There's a train service-the Gatwick express;which takes you to Victoria station, quick and easy.

  9. how about walking?
