A city/country of two halves? This is really bugging me!?

There is a city or country name which is literally the names of the two halves of it combined together, I cant remember what it is for the life of me! (nor do i remember where in the world it is - sorry!) Does anyone out there know?????

Budapest, the capital of Hungary:  Buda is on one side of the Danube River and Pest is on the other.

Czechoslovakia was a country that split apart in the 1990s and no longer exists.  It is now the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

All of these places are in central Europe.
