A close contest expected in Racing Post Form With totepool Mobile Novices´ Chase
Only four runners have been attracted towards the Racing Post Form With totepool Mobile Novices´ Chase at Newton Abbot in England on Sunday, September 2, 2012. The winner of the class-3 event will bag a cash prize of £6,963 in the end.
Although, the number of participants is less in the 2 mile, 5 furlong and 110 yard race, yet the excitement will be great amongst the spectators. They will be hoping for some nail biting action, as all the runners are well trained and have the ability to
give a tough time to each other.
The going has been described as heavy at Newton Abbot, but the conditions are improving with the passage of time, as the weather has remained dry overnight. However, there will not be much of a change and the contestants will have to cope up with the wet
track.
Looking at the recent performances of all participants, the bookmakers have given the best odds for victory to Ixora, who is a pretty decent performer. She has been delivering some good results with consistency and it would have been extremely difficult
to stop her from winning in normal circumstances.
However, the talented mare will have to be at her absolute best in order to take the top spot at Newton Abbot, as the conditions are not suitable for her. Due to this, the punters might not be encouraged to risk a lot of bets on her.
Instead, they would go with someone like Prince Tom, who is not much dependent on the track conditions. He is also carrying the winning momentum right now, thus will be full of confidence. The bookies have priced him 13 to 8 and he has got the tools to dominate
the proceedings today.
The eight-year-old gelding started off his career on a positive note with a couple of third place finishes and he has been pretty much consistent since then. His strike rate is not on the high side though, as he has managed to win on three occasions out
of 14 attempts.
In addition to that, the Paul Nicholls’ trainee has finished as a runner up on a couple of times whereas secured the third place in four events. He will be ridden by Harry Derham in the race today.
