She's been nothing but awful to all of her co-workers, with constant lies, calling in sick, not contributing to various projects, and finding excuses to not do her work.
Here's the thing though, she has my exact position with the other law firm in my suite. She's closest to me in age, and I think EVEN though we differ in work ethic, I think I'm able to identify with how she shucks her responsibility. (I had struggled through high school) I
Anyway, I am close with the two people in her firm whom she works for. They're both young adults in their upper 20's who are hard working, dedicated people. (Not to mention awesome personalities!)
Anyway, her last day is tomorrow, and I will be out of the office. I asked her two co-workers whether or not they'd be writing her a letter/card/quick note, just saying 'best of luck'. They both laughed in my face and thought it was highly inappropriate.
Should I write the note? Even if it isn't genuinely from a good friend?
