A comeback is tougher than a maiden call, reckons Harbhajan – Cricket News Update
Indian off-spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harbhajan-Singh-c61453 is looking forward to make the most of his return to the international arena after a year on the sidelines.
Harbhajan, who last donned the Indian jersey in August last year, was last month recalled into the national squad for the T20 series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
Saturday’s T20 International against New Zealand, at Visakhapatnam will mark Harbhajan’s return to the international cricket after more than a year, and Bhajji reckons making a comeback is a lot more challenging than earning a maiden call-up.
"It's always tough when you are out," the 32-year-old right-arm off-spinner told PTI on Thursday. "Making a comeback is tougher than earning your maiden international call. It involves a lot of things. When you're out, you get injured and then again out. It's always been challenging,” he added further.
Bhajji’s last international appearance for India had come in the 319-run Test defeat at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, during which the offie sustained a muscular injury and was sent home in the midst of the series, and he never returned to the national Test side since then.
The Turbanator further said that he was looking to make a fresh start to his international career and was not depending on his past laurels.
"You cannot live in the past glory. For anyone, it does not depend what you've done in the past but what you do in the present and future," said Bhajji.
"I had the willpower and the desire to wear the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jersey-c41001 again-- it's the biggest thing for me. It makes me proud,"  he added further.
Though the BCCI selectors have given him a T20 nod, he is yet to make a comeback into the Test and ODI sides. Most recently, he has been overlooked for the two Tests the two Tests played prior to the just to begin T20 series.
Harbhajan, the veteran of 98 Tests and 229 ODIs, is looking forward to impress the selectors in the upcoming T20 Internationals, to cement his Test and ODI berths.
