A company has sent me a polite / insistent threatening letter claiming that my name and my handcraft designs product on ebay infringes their trademark. What should I do? I dont have alot of money! Thanks

  1. I would ask them to verify that they in fact have a trademark registered. You would be able to look it up on the internet. http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/gate.exe?f=se...  This is the US Patent and Trademark office.

    It is a matter of principal that if you are right you should be able to keep using the name/logo but as someone mentioned it could be costly to defend and may not be worth it.


  2. This is what I would do if I were I contact them tell them it was a misunderstanding and tell them that you would change the name of your handcraft designs!!!  At least that&#039;s what I would do and go from there!!!

  3. personally, i recommend you change your handcraft designs.  since you don&#039;t have a lot of money for defense or otherwise, you don&#039;t want any suits brought against you.  there are a lot of bullies and thugs in the business world.  sometimes it&#039;s the deep pocket that counts.  just be careful.  i&#039;ve seen and heard a lot of ludicrous infringement cases.  if it&#039;s not too much work, just change your design.  you don&#039;t need the unnecessary legal wranglings.

  4. Change your designs and the name of your product, or quit selling them.  This answer would be the same even if you DID have a lot of money.
