A competitive line-up for the Fairyhouse.IE Handicap assembled at Fairyhouse
Fairyhouse will stage the Fairyhouse.IE Handicap over seven furlongs on Wednesday, 13th June. The race has attracted a line-up of thirteen three-year-old runners who will invade the track for getting entitled to the €5,520 prize money. None of
the entries have tried their luck at Fairyhouse yet, at least not during the current season. A few however have proved themselves by being successful in at least one of the races ever since the season took off.
Ok Annie, Amadeus Wolf’s three-year-old bay filly out of mare, Joint Destiny, won the Early Bird Green Fees At Gowran Handicap on 17th May at Gowran Park over seven furlongs.
With C. P. Hoban onboard, she led the runner up of the race, Coppertop, by three lengths.
Taking up the third slot was Doublebarreljimmy while the 6/1 favourite of the race, The Kernigal, ended seventh on the field of fifteen.
This win was sandwiched between an eleventh and eighth position through the three career starts. Today will be her second straight chance at the race course.
Another note worthy entry for the race is Sharp And Smart, Dark Angel’s three-year-old bay filly out of mare, Church Road. She held firmly to the second outing of the season on 24th May in the Kilfeacle Stud “Portrait Gallery” Handicap at Tipperary
over seven and a half furlongs.
She was the 7/2 favourite winner of the race with Shane Foley riding and the two led the runner up, Pepparpot, by 1 ¼ lengths.
Settling third behind the winner was House Limit.
She started off the season with an eighth position in the seasonal debut and progressed to claiming a race through the very next chance of the season.
Ultra Steps, Footstepsinthesand’s three-year-old bay filly out of mare, Non Ultra, is another candidate for the race who has put in an effort through the four outings that she undertook this season.
The seasonal debut ended with the eleventh position which elevated to the third spot, was brought down to the tenth position and then improved to the runner up’s title.
On 9th June she settled second in the Trim Handicap at Navan over six furlongs as the race was won by Faleena. The 3/1 favourite of the race, Red Sea Poll, ended tenth on a field of thirteen.
