  1. AFS is one of the top foreign exchange agencies in the world. Other good ones include Aspect, Rotary and YFU.

As to country choice, you need to look at your goals. My first suggestion would be to NOT take an English speaking country. One of the biggest benefits of your exchange is language immersion.

Next, what places interest you? Presumably you want to become an exchange student because you want to see and experience new things. If you're fascinated by Europe, consider Germany or Italy. If you love Asia, Japan and Korea are great choices.

Most countries do NOT have a prior language requirement (although it helps!). The exceptions are France and the French speaking portions of Switzerland and Belgium which require two years of high school French.

    Good luck!
