A couple of questions about a girl's name?

I asked this last night, but only got 5 responses. (it may have been too late for many people to be on) I want more opinions about this plz.

We have finally decided on a girl name!!

Salem Kaine (first & middle)

Here are my questions:

1) Do you like it? (a simple no is fine, if you don't....plz don't be rude)

2) Close your eyes and imagine a 4 year old with this name....what is she like? (looks and personality)

3) now imagine she is 30......same question.

1. I'm very sorry but no. It's a Hebrew boy's name and is the name of a city that was later turned into Jerusalem. How about Selina? It's beautiful and stunning. I honestly imagine a sweet, beautiful and intelligent young woman with the name Selina or Salma?

2. A four year old with the name Salem. Quiet, reserved and very to herself. Can't figure out the looks, maybe a tom-boy?

3. A 30year old with that name: she could be anything from a tattoo artist to a sales manager.

1. Its ok, I like the first not the middle but anyways its alright

2. Looks like a curly red head, helpful, an average girl,  yeah

3. um black hair, a little skinny, likes to wear black and purple

To be honest when I first looked at it I wasn't thrilled but after really letting it sink in I think its kind of neat! It falls into the name catagory with girls names such as Emersyn and Campbell, in which I love. The names are different but not totally out there. I would say I like it and I could picture her as like a news anchor on CNN when shes 30! Nice choice!

To be honest, I glanced over this question and read the name before the rest of the text.

Initial thought was: "Oh, that's such a negative name for a boy. Cain killed his brother in the Bible, Salem is famous for witch hunts."

And THEN I read and saw it's for a girl. Please don't do this. I can't picture a 4 nor a 30-year-old woman named Salem Kaine.

It's very masculine and has so many negative associations.

3. One of those "free love" hippy people who likes to paint and where flowy type skirts and beaded shirts. Someone way out of her era. Very quirky.

1.  I don't prefer it.  Kaine is fine, but Salem makes me think of the Salem Witch Trials.

2. and 3.  I suppose if I had to guess looks and personality just based on a name, I'd picture someone who is "hippie" looking, loves the environment and animals, and has a sweet personality.

i think it's an absolutely beautiful name.  it's not common....but...not tacky.  i have to imagine my oldest.  wow i wish i could change her name now but.....my husband would get mad at me if i did.  i honestly couldn't think of her at 30 with that name but....i could see her at 18 with that name.  if you and your husband are happy with it go for it!!

It's not a bad name and I am not trying to be rude but it's a brand of cigarettes where I live so that is hard to get past for me.  Sorry :(

2.  Dark hair, spunky.  She's just like every other four year old.

Personally, I like it.  Simple, but different.  I really have never been a fan of "girly" names, so I really like that it's gender-neutral.  

And to the person that mentioned it sounding "witchy", that's what else I like about it....  a little gothic sounding!

Salem is a boy's name. I have a neighbor his name is Salem James

How about Selma?-its more feminine

Selma Kaine sounds prettier IMO.
