A court convincing note?

well i want my dad to have custody of me and my dad said i should write a letter they go to court in a couple days and they dont want him to have custody of me cause hes old i need my dad to have custody of me so my brother can adopt me that would be best. and im not really good at writeing or wording it out so the thing is me and my mom always fite and i need a real family that dont hate me thts were my brother comes in how can i convince court to give my dad custody

  1. Laws differ from state to state, so I may be mistaken, but I think that for your brother to adopt you, you mother and father have to consent to it, regardless of who has custody.

    Also I am not sure of your age, but in many custody cases here in my state, the judge will take the child into their chambers and speak with them about what they want.  This usually plays a pretty important part in the outcome.  Seeing as how you are not good with putting your words to paper, maybe there is a way that you father could request a private audience with the judge for you.  It can't hurt to try.  Ask your dad to make some calls to the courthouse or to his lawyer and find out if this is possible.  If not, I would still write the letter, as it can't hurt regardless of how well worded it is.  The fact that you were motivated enough to write the letter will probably have more of an impact, than the letter itself.  It shows the judge that you really do care about which parent you are placed with.
