  1. The brain has some extraordinary characteristics, when it is only slightly being damaged, certain functions can be taken over by other sectors of the brain. However, as with most nerves, it cannot heal severe damage.

The future will show whether stem cell research would create the potential of "repair" work.

  2. Unfortunately the brain is the least organ as humans we are able to really study.  Brain damage ranges from minor to severe.  So a person with a minor concussion with some memory loss would bounce back on there own.  Someone who has had a massive CVA (stroke) may take years of occupational therapy and rehabilitation to learn over just the basics such as feeding themselves again.  One thing is for sure and that the human brain is miraculous and what one person can't recover from the next person may have a full recovery.  God bless and I hope this helped a little.

  3. There is no cure for brain damage. If there is a temporary loss of brain function as a result of a concussion or some other trauma, it's possible to recover some degree of function -- or all function--but this is a natural response rather than a cure. There are people who improve with therapy, but some trauma like boxing, for example, causes permanent damage.
