Question:

A darkly sweet Poem "Nightwing"

Nights soft shadow draws me from death,

My flesh is of clay, I issue no breath.

I fly to you now on soft leather wing ,

Can you guess who I am and what sweetbess I bring?

I walked the world while man was young,

and fed upon priests who worshipped the sun.

So wait for me darling, and taste my sweet kiss,

This life you are living offers nothing to miss.

And,as the days cruel sun rides high in the sky,

In my bed of darkness, with me you will lie.

Then hen man is no more, his cities all gone,

We creatures of night will yet longer on,

We'll feed on the beasts that dwell in the caves,

And then find a new race to use as our slaves.

  1. I am a professional performance poet and I am EXTREMELY impressed with the raw potential talent I see in your words.  You write from the wairua (Maori word for spirit)...You definitely have real ability.  Keep it up.  And yes submit your poem to competitions.

One constructive criticism though...always double check your spelling mistakes.  I noticed a few.  Ok?  Good luck.

  2. so I just put up a few poems that I wrote and now I feel retarded, your poem is amazing I loved it definitely keep writing, though now I might stop ...ha well seriously its really good

  3. As a poet I would like to comment that I believe you have real talent..I liked this poem. I think you should consider sending it to the American League of Poets and see if they will use it.  Please write more..
