A decent place to stay for a week in Cancun?

Hi all. Hopefully someone will have some good suggestions. I am planning to head to Cancun in May with my brother. We would like to stay at a place that is quiet and laid back, but close enough to Cancun's night life so there's something to do at night. I would not want a place that is full of partiers or has a club on the premises, but also not so far from Cancun's club/bar/restaurant district that I have to take a taxi for 30 minutes to get there. try the Krystal....it is right on the beach...you can walk to most places...malls...senor frogs etc....it is a four star hotel....you can ride the bus into town for .65 pesos.....we go every year...were there in Jan...have fun...get pesos at bank...not airport or hotel....
