Disrupted by attacks from former players and presidents, Olympique de Marseille’s leading strongmen and owner are set to have a meeting regarding the future of the club

In recent days, former President Jean-Claude Dassier and player, Lucho Gonzalez, have made bold statements against the club’s management. Both men have criticised the management for not being able to professionally handle many issues at the club.
Lucho Gonzalez in particular was not impressed with how off the field and on the field issues have been handled by the club. Dassier on the other hand, was thoroughly critical of current president Vincent Labrune.
OM certainly did not need this and neither did they see this coming. Already with an uncertain future and tougher days to come, the club’s owner, Margarita Louis-Dreyfus and President, Vincent Labrune along with Didier Deschamps, are set to commence a meeting
in order to draw outlines for the future of Les Phoceens.
The main aspect of the meeting would be regarding the future of coach Didier Deschamps who has been hotly linked with a move away from the Velodrome. Though the Frenchman remains coy over his future, it is likely that Deschamps could leave the club this
summer.
The former Juventus and AS Monaco coach says that he wants his freedom as a coach and cited his departure from Monaco as an example of him putting his freedom first over rest of the things.
“My freedom is priceless. It will never be a matter of money, I left Monaco when I still had two years left on my contract,” said the tactician while talking to Parisien.
There are a lot of differences between sporting director Jose Anigo and Didier Deschamps. The duo had a well-publicised war-of-words last year and this issue might also be settled once and for all in the meeting.
According to Le Parisien, Anigo is in touch with agents of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Modibo-Maiga-c26167 and Bafetimbi Gomis.
However, before actually bringing these players to the club, Les Phoceens will be needing to free up some cash. The likes of Loic Remy, Andre Ayew and Cesare Azpilicueta might be sold this summer and these issues might also be discussed in the meeting.
