Hi Jennifer, I had answered one similar to this the other day, and basically what we do in our community is:

We have clean up days. Everyone hauls trash, litter and items that have been thrown along the roads,

bag them, put them in the pick-up trucks, and take to the local dump.

We also paint fences, and do minor repairs for some of our shut ins and Seniors, we get the paint donated and we donate the labor..............Yard work, grass cutting and tree maintenance help the neighborhoods look better.

Soda Pop and beer can collection,we pick them up, rinse them out and compact them, then the aluminum is sold and the money donated......any gang signs, or graffiti we have reported to us, is painted over as soon as we receive a call..

We all work together for the betterment, and improvement of the whole...good luck with any projects you take on......

We also are all on a "neighbors watch"... which is for safety, strange acting or intoxicated people, any vehicles, or suspicious activity, we notify the local authorities....thank you
