Later in 2007, he became the youngest ever point scorer as he stood at eighth position for Robert Kubica of BMW at Indy. In addition, he managed to secure a race seat with the sister team of Red Bull Racing, Toro Rosso and earned them their best result with
fourth place in Chinese Grand Prix.
In 2008, he started his first full F1 season and won the race at Monza in rainy conditions. He came eighth in overall drivers’ standings with 35 points and switched to Red Bull from Toro Rosso.
In his first season with Red Bull, in 2009, he kept on showing amazing performances throughout the year. The highlights include his maiden pole for the team and victory in China plus his win at Silverstone and Suzuka.
Moreover, with his final win at the last race of the season held at Abu Dhabi he secured second position in the drivers’ championship.

Even though, the defending champion struggled during the last day of the final pre-season test held at Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona where he could only managed to cover 23 laps and came last on the timesheets due to the updates made in RB8.
Nonetheless, he has still been considered as the out-and-out favourite for this year’s championship title.
In 2012, in the season opener held at Albert Park in Melbourne, he faced problems during the qualifying and came sixth.
However, he secured second podium finish in the race. Contrarily, he could not score even a single point in the second race at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia due to his collision with Narain Karthikeyan of HRT.
He secured fifth place finish in the third race at Shanghai International Circuit in China after starting the race from 11th position in the grid.
The veteran German driver finally claimed his first pole of the season leading to the race win at Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir. Besides, he was followed by the Lotus pair of drivers, Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean.
He is currently at the top of drivers’ standings and aiming to improve his pace in the season ahead in order to defend his championship title.
