A detailed round up of Paul di Resta’s season performance so far
Paul di Resta is a talented driver but has not been able to show his true potential because of the team he is in.
Although Force India has not done bad since it came into Formula 1 but they have failed to provide its drivers a winning car so far. The 2011 season for di Resta with the team was a mediocre one for him as a driver but the team did well to finish 6th in
the constructors’ standings.
The main objective of the team was to finish in the top five coming into 2012, but they have not been able to do that so far. The reason is not that the team is not doing well they have scored more points at this stage of the season than they did in the
previous season but the level of competitiveness in this season has been such that they have not been able to penetrate the top five.
Di Resta has scored 27 points from 11 races so far in the season; he scored just as many points in the whole season in 2011. Di Resta has done well to score that many points in a highly competitive season while the team is also struggling to come up with
a car that can produce the desired results.
Di Resta’s name has also been linked with Mercedes. Speculations are that if Michael Schumacher decides to leave Mercedes, they may be looking into di Resta for his replacement but nothing has been confirmed from either side but it shows just how highly
rated he is among the teams.
