I'm stopping by the police station later to discuss the issue with the detective.Supposedly I rear ended someone and drove off, which is not true. I was in the area at the general time, but I didn't hit anyone. There is no damage to the front of my car. At best I guess, and I'm not admitting this but it could be a theory, that maybe I cut off someone and this is their retribution. What exactly do I say and do at the meeting with the detective to help put my best foot forward?

  1. Answer the questions honestly.  Have your car available for  inspection.  If you feel uncomfortable going alone, find an attorney; having a lawyer is NOT an admission of guilt.

  2. Go talk to them, if you don't show up then they will think your guilty! Tell them everything you know, good luck

  3. I recommend that you contact a criminal defense attorney first, and follow the instructions of the attorney to the letter.

    .

  4. Honesty is the best policy, he will ask you some questions he already knows the answer to so don't try to be sneaky. Like the others say, having a lawyer present is not a bad idea. If this is just questioning you can leave at any time.

  5. Listen to me very carefully!

Never, never, never, ever, meet with any law enforcement oficer without your attorney being present.  Police LIE, coerce, intimidate you, LIE, comitt perjury, put words in your mouth, read between the lines, LIE and then LIE some more when they use everything they concocted in a court of law against you.

NEVER MEET WITH A POLICE OFFICER/DETECTIVE WITHOUT AN ATTORNEY. BEING PRESENT!

  6. Do not go and talk to the cops what ever you say will be used against you in a court of law. Talk to a lawyer first NEVER talk to the cops.
