  1. Never Ever make up a monoulge and tell them you made it up! Trust me you want get cast if you did! I would find one thats show off your range and emotion. Don't be afraid to try different ages and gender. To find a great monolouge go to a book store and purchase a book. They are pretty cheep. REMEMBER ALWAYS GET A PUBLISHED MONOLOUGE WITH AN AUTHOR!!

  2. Noooo. Always get one from an author.

Something that you write yourself might sound good to you, but doesnt sound good to him.

  3. As a television director I am not looking for an improviser. Talent aside, I am looking for someone who can learn their lines, and be open for my interpretation of how they should perform it. Stick with a written script.

  4. The worst thing you can do is to tell whom ever is doing the audition you wrote your monologues.  They don't want to have to judge your writing. They are there to judge your acting.  You can however, create a fictitious writer and play for it - that is, if the monologues is really good.

Check what kind of show they are doing, and find a monologue closely related to the show. You just have to ask yourself, are you there as a writer or as an actress.
