Question:

A dream about roses?

I had a dream that I was in the backyard in my old house. On one edge of the yard it was fully of blooming red and pink roses. It was mostly pink ones though. On the other side of the yard there was only one rosebush so I decided to either move some of the rosebushes from the one side to the other or to simply plant more on the emptier side. Sitting in the middle of the yard was the main character from my favorite show. He was telling me how to get more rosebushes on the emptier side. It quickly passed through my mind that there are thorns on the stem and I might get pricked but I never did. Any ideas what does it mean?

  1. This is a dream about confused love, and your desire to cut the confusion out, to see what is left, and put it in an orderly fashion that satisfies you. The love seems to be for your friends or family [because there are so many pink bushes, it seems to be friends], The red rose bushes represent someone or thing that you feel more deeply about.

The red bush opposite them, is you.  Whatever it is that's bothering you about your family or friends, you want to "attract" to your side of the yard, so that  you can have better control of your more passionate emotions. "Passionate" is anything you feel strongly about. Could be a friend or sibling hanging with a boy you dislike; someone you are fond of going on a long vacation or trip, and you feel left out or worried about what will happen to her. Could be a loved one who's ill; a parent [divorced of course] who is dating again. Whatever it is, it bothers you more than the emotions associated with the milder "pink" concerns you have.

The guy in the center of the yard is someone you like, and therefore you listen to his opinion, and him trying to help. He represents your sleeping mind trying to figure things out in a way that doesn't stress you..... and the thing about thorns, is your way of realizing that getting things to work out the way you want won't be easy.

  2. Rose

Most flowers are seen as friendly dream symbols. Roses may have their own special meaning and could represent femininity, beauty, love, or romance. Roses may have some spiritual significance as well. They are used when expressing both positive and negative emotions. They unfold and can be considered symbols of innocence. The color of the rose, as well as the details of the dream should be considered when making interpretation. (E.g. White - purity; red - passion; Pink - romance and love; black - death.)

I found this online. Hope it helps..

  3. I could imagine the dream meaning that, just like the yard, you have an "emptier side". The character from your favorite show sounds like he's serving as a catalyst for your change. What I mean is that your "emptier side" could be something like, you don't relax, or act as social, or don't explore your creativity, etc. as much as you'd like to. You almost don't feel like you have the capacity to just make the change that would make you whole, so in the dream you call on someone you like to help you make the change, or maybe even if you had some of his qualities making this change would be easier.
