  1. Hello; here are the first possibilities that come to mind as far as what that could mean:

The first reason could be that your Ball python just got a drink before you interacted with it. That would be a common and completely normal reason as to why that happened. :)

The second reason is that your snake could have a respiratory infection, and the 'water' could be mucus. This would likely be accompanied by open mouthed breathing, possibly a swollen throat, a 'clicking' or wheezing noise while the snake is trying to take a breath, etc. If this is the case; you'll need to get your snake to a vet immediately for treatment. Here is a website on Respiratory tract infections in reptiles. http://www.anapsid.org/rti.html

The third is that for whatever reason, I have noticed that a female Ball python that I used to have that was otherwise perfectly healthy and in great shape will 'drool', for lack of a better term, when handled more than a minute or so at a time. I took her to three different reptile vets, and she didn't have a respiratory infection or anything to that effect, and this was always at least three or four days after feeding so it wasn't the beginnings of regurgitation. My vets suggested that the only thing that they could think of is that it was a sign of extreme stress, since she had nothing physically wrong with her at all. I ended up giving her to a Ball python breeder friend of mine where she is happily living out her life and doesn't get handled any more than absolutely necessary. :)

Anyway; that is my two cents. :)

I hope this helps, and if you have any further questions at all on the subject; please feel free to message me and I will be more than happy to assist you.

Good luck with your Ball python!

  2. it means that it's getting sick

  3. getting sick is actually the reason. a vet should be called in the morning. also, was it in the water dish? it could have stuck its head in. balls are far from poisonous. don't worry. just make sure you go to the vet soon. it is your best bet. also, you might just be able to get his check up done sooner then you have to.

  4. Its Respiratory disease.. Keep ur snake warm and dry higher the humidity!!!
