The mom duck is with the eggs. The dad duck just walks around. There is an egg that is white at the very top and orange at the rest of the egg. The egg has what looks like veins all around the orange part. Will the duck egg still hatch.

  1. I'm assuming you candled the egg to get this result right? (By holding a flashlight or slide projector up to the egg in a dark room). If so, chances look GREAT for a duckling to be hatching out of that egg. The white part you see is the air pocket in the egg that the duckling will use for air when it hatches. The orange part is just the natural color of the yolk in the egg. If it's veiny that means that the embryo has been developing. There is a small chance that the embryo could still die for several reasons- natural causes or the mom doesn't turn the eggs/keep them warm enough- but the veins mean there is definitely an embryo developing. Good luck with the hatching!
