  1. During Liverpool's run towards the 1977 European Cup, they knocked out St. Etienne in the quarterfinals and FC Zurich in the semis before defeating Borussia Moenchengladbach in the final played in Rome.

    Before the Rome final, Liverpool supporters unfurled a banner paying tribute to left back Joey Jones. It read:

    "Joey Ate The Frogs Legs, Made The Swiss Roll, Now He's Munching Gladbach"

    The banner now sits in the Liverpool museum.
