i have been invited to go but, like, how long can one person stare at an iceberg! And no matter what they say, 7 days on a luxury liner to Alaska sounds cold! confined! and unattractive to me!

would you go??

  1. Dude; do you live under a rock ? Watch the travel channel or check out the cruise ships. They stop at 3 or 4 ports and there is alot to do. Plus I went 3 times last year and was not cold in May, June or Sept. Plus, you meet people from all over, many things on the ship to do. You really need to check things out. Never know you may end up having a great time.

    Enjoy.

  2. For free I would ...there is not only Glaciers to look at

  3. I would go. Alaska looks so beautiful! It's actually the cruise ship part I wouldn't enjoy. I went on my first cruise at the beginning of this year and did not enjoy it. I felt trapped on the boat after a day. I like to get out an explore when I'm on vacation and I felt like I had seen everything there was to see on the ship after a few hours. But I suppose one would have to take a ship to see Alaska's fjords and glaciers, so yes I would suck it up and get on a cruise ship to go there.

  4. You have got to go!  I went last summer and it is the best cruise you can go on.  And in all truth, it isn't that cold up there.  The highest it got to was 71 degrees and the lowest was 45 degrees.  And the glaciers are amazing up there.  The ship pulls up along side one and you get to watch it break off and fall into the water.  They even bring out hot chocolate for you to drink while you watch the glacier.  And the ports you stop at are so amazing.  Even if you still think that it sounds boring, just go for the trip.  You don't even have to get off of the ship to have a good time.  You can sit in a restauraunt and watch whales jump out of the water through the window while your eating lunch.  It is the best experience you will have.  I was kind of "iffy" when I went to and I absolutely loved it.

There is a video of a glacier calving off.  It is even more outstanding in person because you get to hear the sounds even better.

That is a video of the whales you will see every single day you are in Alaska.

I'm just trying to get you excited to go.  It truly is a lifetime experience.

  5. Would " I" go is not the question...so...you've been invited to go.. on a fancy smancy crise to Alaska....all you can think of is how cold it will be! How confined you might feel!!  Ya' think the only thing to do will be to stare at icebergs....I think you just don't want to go with the person who invited you...what if your companion  could tell you about what's underneath the icebergs? What if there were so many different ways to stay warm that 7 days was too short an adventure? What if you turned out to be the most attractive man on the cruise and all the woman wanted your number???? You don't want to go with the person who invited you. Be honest with them...

  6. Where are you getting your information???  You should check out some of the cruise line web sites before you make up your mind.  It is a truly wonderful cruise, the scenery is breath taking and the weather was delightful.

  7. One of my friends went and she absolutely loved it.  I saw the pictues and they were goregous.  She actually loved it so much she was seriously looking into moving there.  It's not that cold there, but you probably would be wearing a swatshirt most of the time.

  8. I have been on an Alaskan cruise and I loved it. The scenery was beautiful. There is so much to do on the boat, go, you will have a great time.

  9. i went on july11/05-7 days on ship-5 days land tour-the ship was cold-coldest day 59 hottest day 66-land tour was high 60's-warmest 73

i would go back in a heart beat-many things to do on the ship-the land tours are long anywhere from 6-16hrs.-be cautious these tours are not cheap

only one stupid person went in the pool-if you don't like the cold stay home check the weather with the travel agency i don't like cold either ,but dress for it -go go go

  10. I've actually been to Alaska and I couldn't describe a more beautiful, idealic place.  First off, its not all icebergs and cold.  In fact, parts of Alaska have more mild temperatures than most of our continental US.  And there is much more to see than icebergs.  There are beautiful glaciers perched on active volcanos.  The mountains seem to erupt out of the ocean.  And there is an abundence of wildlife!  Honestly, Alaska is not the cold, desert, winderland you imagine!
