Question:

A fancy wine...?

Okay, so I'm writing a story at the moment, where I have a group of 22 year old characters. I've never drunk myself and don't hang around people who do ... how much wine would it take a person to get drunk? I know it varies but an average would be nice.

What I'm thinking is this is a white wine, an expensive bottle of it, too, but I could change to red, I don't know...

Also, seeing as they are attacked by zombies at a club in the next scene, only a few minutes after, would they be able to, with the adrenaline rush, snap back to a clear thinking phase? Like, I dunno...'cause adrenaline rushes are pretty powerful things, heh.

Please don't reply just saying "it depends" or "go try it yourself" or anything please, I'm asking kindly here (:

  1. Adrenaline rushes are powerful but only time will snap a drunk back into a thinking phase.

  2. Go for white wine instead of red as red wine has more of a mellow effect and would be harder to 'snap out of'. A couple of glasses of wine would usually make someone tipsy.

  3. If you are thinking about using an "expensive bottle" of white wine... I'd suggest a bottle of Bollinger or Veuve Clicquot.  There are quite a few champagnes more expensive than these, but these two are within the realms of possibility that a 22 year old may consider reasonably priced enough to buy (without selling a kidney to do so).  And on an empty stomach, champagne does tend to go straight to your head (as does any alcohol).  But if you're story has an air of elegance about it, a few glasses of expensive champagne and strawberries may fit the scene you are trying to write.

  4. Moet!
