  1. If its fully feathered it is a Fledgling.

It didn't fall out, it jumped out.

It is now going to learn to fly.

Bolth parents will still feed it even though its on the ground.

The only thing you need to do is to leave the bird a lone and keep all cats, dogs and children out of that area.

  2. i say take the bird in becaseu most of the time the mother will not feed it

  3. put it back but use gloves or something just in case! and dont hold it for that long

    good luck

  4. I did that and his mother took him back he fell out of his nest and i picked him up and put him back in the nest and his mother is feeding him now! And the story where they say if you touch a bird the mother wont take it back thats not true! Put it back in its nest!

  5. Briefly touching a bird will not cause the parent to reject it most of the time.  If it accidentally fell out of the nest, the parents will still feed it.  If the parents or siblings pushed it out of the nest, they may sense it is sick and have stopped carrying for it.  If you want to be safe, very quickly pick the baby bird up with a plastic bag, put it in the nest, and move out of the area.  This will be less stressful for the baby and parents.

  6. put it back the mother shouldnt reject it

  7. It's a fledgling.  This is the time of the year for these.  Look at how many questions are related to birds falling out of nests.  The parents know where the baby is and will feed it and the siblings for the next few days while everyone learns how to fly and where to find the food they eat.  If you can keep cats and dogs away from the area.  The bird will porbably be be gone in a day or two and effectively be an adult.

Birds have a very very poor sense of smell.  That is why birds don't have much oder (it doesn't give them any information, why waste a good stench on something that can't smell it anyway) and that is why the only natural enemy of a skunk is an owl.  So, that said, the parents will not stop caring forr the baby because of the smell of humans.  The only thing that will stop her is if she figures it will die anyway.  Why waste food on something that will die anyway.  So if it's deformed, she kickks it out of the nest or if there are too many to feed or if it hatches late....
