A few extra pounds don’t matter (Part 3)
Julius Boros:
At number 18 in our fitness-averse list, Boros stands as one of the legends in the world of golf and collected a total of 3 majors, 18 PGA Tour victories and 3 Champions Tour titles.
The now 74-year-old, although avoided the fitness van, managed to stand out in the golfing crowd and is most famous for the Champions Tour beginning in the original Legends of Golf from the year 1979.
Nancy Lopez:
The female golfer began her career as a rather trim player and soon became a true representation of the LPGA. Lopez has a total of 48 LPGA victories and enjoyed great fame from 1970s to the early 1980s.
The now 53-year-old grabbed 3 major championships and ruled the top rankings starting first as a slender woman and later as a mother of 3 children - with bulges.
Angel Cabrera:
This golfer looked like a guy who enjoys everything in life.
Cabrera stood on the fields as a player with wonderful blend of skill, power and cool. Nicknamed as ‘The Duck’, Cabrera collected a total of 49 professional wins and has 2 PGA Tour victories in the record. His 2 majors were collected from America while
his European Tour amounts to 5 in number. His current weight is 210 lbs.
Cristie Kerr:
Known by many, Kerr is currently at the top of the best player list in the LPGA list and nears122 pounds. The female golfer had been initially 185 pounds and won many tournaments even before she lost 60 pounds between the years 1999 and 2001.
The 33-year-old has a total of 18 professional victories and two of those are majors to make to number fifteen in our list.
Fred Couples:
Then there is Couples who won’t be seen roaming around anywhere near the gym by anyone.
The 51-year-old has a total of 51 professional wins and a rather repugnant attitude from the gym due to his back problem. Couples has grabbed victory in the year 1992 Masters but has been bothered by his back dilemma since the early 1990s.
The golfer has been victorious in 15 PGA Tour events, 2 European Tour events and four Champions Tour tournaments.
As for the workout, it’s zero to none for him since he can’t lift literally anything for fear of pulling something in his back.
Mark Calcavecchia:
Calcavecchia is currently fifty years old and has 225 lb in weight.
He is the winner of the British Open from the year 1989 and has seized 13 PGA Tour titles up till now. Calc has collected 26 professional tours and ruled the top ten world rankings list for a total of 100 weeks.
Craig Stadler:
Stepping into the top ten of the 25 list of fitness revolting golfers, the Walrus won the 1982 Masters and 13 PGA Tour for his record. The 250 lb golfer has collected 2 European Tours, 1 Japan Golf Tour and 8 Champions Tours as a successful player in golf.
The golfer with the famous moustache is also famous for his astonishing temper in the field apart from the extra pounds and was the leader at the money list in the year 1982.
Orville Moody (late):
Apart from Stadler’s mood swings, Moody stands at number nine in our list with 200 lbs.
The 74-year-old has 25 professional wins and holds 1 PGA Tour victory with 11 Champions Tour wins.
Albeit the pounds, Moody grabbed the Korean Open, the Hassan II Golf Trophy and Hong Kong Open, all in his 1970s reign. ‘Sarge’ was highly famous in the greens due to his invention of the long putter and grabbed one Senior Open in his record as well.
