A few months ago a crazy-looking red, long haired scientist announced lifespans soon to 900 years. His name?

He claimed he was developing technology that would expand lifespans up to 900 years in our life times. He had put out a challenge to other scientists to produce evidence it was not possible backed by computer big wigs. I can't find him in the news now at all and can't remember his name. Can you help me? I know he also did a great 20 minute lecture fr a lecture series I also can't remember the name of, but it began with a "T". Any help?
