  3. 1. Amelia, Emme, Emi,

    2. Jayden, Jordan, Madeline

    3. Its trendy, people don't tend to like trendy names, they feel like they might go out of style quickly. It's "meaning" also comes off as shallow, its not "derrived" from anything or have roots in any language, its just a particular word spelt backwards.

    4. Mispelled names can be difficult for a child to live with. When a child has to frequently correct the spelling of their name is can get tiresome. While Karlie isn't so bad, because it is a short name, longer names such as Alekzandeer become a pain the the but.

As a side note, Emma and Emily top baby name lists for 2008. A child that receives this name will find it is a very common name in their generation, like the names "ashley", and "bradley" were for mine.

  4. 1. what are different forms of Emma/Emily?

Emme, Emmalyn, Emmaline, Emilia, Emerson/Emersyn, Emery, Emmett, Emiliane...That's all I can think of right now.

    2. what are some names that end like Evelyn, Landen, Brayden (both boy and girl names)?

    Aidan, Jaiden, Caiden, Branden, Brendon

Kaelyn, Jaelynn, Madelyn, Adelyn, Jayden, Leighton, Gracelyn, Caralyn/Carolyn

    3. Why does everyone seem to hate the name Navaeh(Nevaeh)?

I don't know.  I actually think it's pronounced very beautifully, and if it weren't for that whole "Heaven spelt backwards" thing, I think people would actually like it!

    4. Why do people get so mad when the see a name "misspelled" example Karlie instead of Carly?

If some names are very misspelled (ex: Madyzyn, Makkinzee), I could see why there might be a problem.  I don't see why people make such a big fuss with only a few lwtters changes (ex: Mikaila, Kassandra, Karaline/Karalyn)

    Great survey!

  5. 1. I'm not sure of different forms, but I can think of a few different spellings

    2. Ashlyn, Braelyn, Kaden, Donovan

    3. I personally just don't like how Nevaeh sounds.

    4. I think changing the spelling a little bit isn't bad. For instance when my daughter was born the name Madison was very popular. My husband loved that name and it was the only one we could agree on. I spelled it Madisyn. My name is Amanda and growing up there were so many Amanda's that were in my class, friends of mine ect. (My boss's name is Amanda too lol) I thought putting a slight spin on the name would make her feel more unique, but I suppose others would think I was illiterate. It's all depends on the persons perception on it.

  6. 1. Emalee, Emaline, Emelia, Emelie, Emelina, Emeline, Emely.

2.Aiden, Kaiden, Jayden, Bryson, Hayden, Kaitlyn.

    3. I personally don't like it because it's a made up name, just silly in my opinion.

    4. I prefer traditional spellings because it makes the pronunciation easier. It's hard on both the parent and especially the child to be constantly correcting the spelling/pronunciation of their name.

  7. 1. What are the different forms of Emma/Emily?

Emma is a form of itself (Emma). You could spell it Ema if you wanted. Some elaborations are Emmaleigh, Emmalina,  Emmaline, and Emmalise. Emily is a form of Aemilia, which is the female version of the male name Aemilius. Amelia and Emelia are related to Emily.

    2. What are some that end in the "in" sound?

These kinds of names are very trendy right now because of the fresh sound they have. Here is a list of names like that for boys:

    and for girls:

    3. Why does everyone seem to hate the name Nevaeh?

For one, they think it's tasteless because it's so un-classic. Another reason is because Heaven spelled backwards equates to h**l for some people. The last reason is because it's super-trendy -- one day, names like Nevaeh will be associated with old farts.

    4. Why do people get so mad when the see a name "misspelled"?

Some people perceive it as creative, while some people perceive it as uneducated and tacky. It's just a difference in perspective.

Hope I helped you!! Good luck with name selection. =)

  8. 1. Emmalee, Emilie, Amelie, Amelia. Don't know of any variations of Emma.

    2. Caitlin, Brandon etc

    3. Because it's awful.

    4. Because it's stupid.

  9. 1.) Emmaline, Emmaleigh, Enna, Etta, Emilia, Ella, Ellie, Elsie

2.) Madison, Addison, Adeline, Hayden, Jadon, Kayden, Shannon

3.) It's overused, although I kind of like it

4.) Because it just looks tacky misspelled. Sometimes names are better left the way they are.

  10. 1. Some names that are a lot like Emma/Emily:

    Emmaline/Emmeline/Emeline, Emilia, Amelia, Aemilia, Amelie

    2. Names with ending sounds like those you mentioned:

Holden, Arden (m or f), Nolan, Owen, Jocelyn (tends to be more f, but can also be m), Declan, Adrian, Julian, Killian/Kilian, Vivian/Vivienne

    3. Nevaeh is the form that's heaven spelled backwards, and any variations on it (like Navaeh, Neveah, etc.) are ridiculous, in my opinion, because then it just seems like you're so uneducated that you can't even spell heaven backwards properly.  Even if you do manage that, I find it really, really tacky - it's a name that strongly conveys an image of "trailer trash".  The image certainly isn't accurate in all cases, but it's very, very strong nonetheless.

    4. "Misspellings" seem uneducated and kre8tive if they're not well-established versions of a name.  Karlie isn't too terrible, but then you get things like Madylynne and Kymberleigh, and then it's a clear case of wanting to make a name unique by butchering the spelling.  That doesn't sit right with a lot of people, myself included, and what you really end up with is a name that's got too many extra letters and a kid who's never going to get his or her name spelled correctly.

  11. about people getting mad over names, is about rediculious. Its your child and thats how you wanted to spell it so they need to keep their nose in their own names!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol!! the name nevaeh I believe is cute! i love it!
