Is Spanish the only language they speak?

  1. 1) No problem to travel to Cuba , unless you are a US citizen, in that case you need an OFAC license ( see http://www.treas.gov. ) This license is only granted for special purposes such as humanitarian , educational, business, cultural etc. NOT for vacations.

This is the legal way, a growing number ( an estimated 100,000 ) travel illegal via other cities like Cancun Mexico, or

Toronto Canada , but again this is considered illegal and when catched you can get a fine up to 1mil $ or jail.

    2)  In general Spanish is the only language , in the international hotels most staff will also speak English or sometimes German. But amongst the average Cubans in shops or on the streets very few speak an other language than Spanish.

    3)  Since the relations with Cuba are " Officialy" broken there is no Cuban embassy in the USA , only a " Cuban Interest section located at the Swiss Embassy in Washington DC.

In the same way is there no US  embassy in Cuba , only a US interest section on the Malecon in Havana.

    All the best,

  2. 1.) Yes

2.) Mostly. Some English at some places.

    3.) No

  3. You do not need any Cuba embassy to get the Cuban visa.  If you are in México, right before you get into the plane, they will give it to you.

  4. It's very safe in Cuba and Spanish is the official and main language spoken. However, English, French and Italian are widely learned (even German), especially in tourist areas.

If you need a visa for travelling, you don't need to go through an embassy.

All you need is a passport and the travel agency (or airline) will provide you with a tourist/visa card.

You won't need a special travel license if you're not a US citizen, as you say...all you need is your passport.

You won't find an Embassy of Cuba in the US.

Your travel to Cuba will be straightforward.

  5. Ok well first off let me ask you this, are you from the United States? If you are you are not going to cuba legally. If you get to cuba yes it is very safe to stay. The US has a lovely embargo on Cuba and you are not allwoed to do business at all with them. Going there = doing business with them so therefore you are not allowed to go there.

IF somehow you get to Cuba, it is very safe to stay there, considering the government watches everything you do.

They mostly speak spanish, but as in any country people speak english as well.

No there is not an Embassy in the US. We have en embargo on them, we do not do any sort of business or trading AT ALL.

So if you are from the US, you will not get into Cuba. If somehow you manage to get into Cuba, you will not get out for the same reasons.

    Hope that helps
