Question:

A few questions about contacts?

Hi like I said in my other question, I'm a 6th grader who is having trouble reading from the back of the class.

1) Do contacts hurt to put inside your eyes?

2) Do you have to take them off when you go to sleep?

3) Can you use them for outside activities (such as P.E., running, etc)?

Thank you in advanced.

  1. 1. No. Soft contacts are very comfortable

    2. It depends. Most brands require that you take them out, unless they are the monthly kind that you leave in.

    3. Absolutely - you won't even notice that they are in once you get used to them.

Good Luck, I wear biomedics, they are incredible.

  2. 1) Do contacts hurt to put inside your eyes? no, just make sure u get soft contacts..they're fine..the dont bug you too much after a bit

    2) Do you have to take them off when you go to sleep? No

    3) Can you use them for outside activities (such as P.E., running, etc)? yup

  3. 1. no, you think it is going to hurt but it doesn't if you put it in right

    2. yes, do it when you take a shower or water sports because you can get an infection from the things in the water

    3. yes, carry like some contact drops in case something gets in your eye or if they start getting dry

  4. 1) they hurt when they are dirty or you put them in backwards

    2) yes or you  wont be able to take them out in the morning cuz your eyes will be so dry

    3) yes just not for swimming, if you swim w/ your eyes open

  5. I wear contacts, and I love them!

    1) No they don't, unless you accidentally scratch your eye, or your contacts ripped or dirty. But that doesn't happen if your careful.

    2) some contacts are breathable, and you CAN sleep in those, but some (like mine) aren't. But they probably aren't bad if you accidentally fall asleep for a little while.

3)Yes you can. Sometimes they fall out, but that's never happened to me. But you should be able to. I think that's why they made them, so that you can do more stuff without having to wear glasses.

  6. if they are dirty then yes they will irritate your eyes or if they dry out but if you keep them clean then no. they have special made ones you can sleep in but i wouldn't recommend it. and yes i play football in mine so they should be ok

  7. I use Accuvue lenses. They are great and I usually can't feel them at all.

I have to take mine off when I go to sleep because they are not extended wear.

I play basketball, jog and do gardening in them (and about everything but swim). I even go to the beach with them on - but not in the water.

Your eye doctor will determine what kind of lenses you need, and will teach you to put them in, and how to care for them.

I've been to many doctors to get them (been wearing them for about 20 years). The best and cheapest place to go is Sears, but your parents will determine that!

Have fun with them!  They're great!

  8. 1) No it does not! I use to think that!

    2) Your suppose to take them off when you go to sllep and put them in contact solution until u awake the next morning so they'll be clean. Sometimes I sleep in them when I'm really tired it doesn't bother anything!

3)yes you can use them for whatever! lol

PS: I hoped I helped because I have contacts myself my color is honey!

  9. They don't hurt but you do have to get used to sticking things in your eyes.

Some are extended wear, you wear them for like 30 days straight. Day and night. Some you take out nightly and every couple of weeks you dispose of them. Ask your Dr. which is right for you.

Once they are in you can do almost everything except swim. Water in your eyes could wash the lenses out. Good luck and they beat glasses any day.

  10. No they do not hurt, they will take some time to get used to.

Yes, you are supposed to take them out when you sleep.

You can use them anywhere anytime, except for swimming.

  11. Hey

Contacts dont hurt to put in your eye, unless you put them into low as in the very red part on the bottom of your eye. Other than that they are very esay to put in. Some contacts can be worn 24 hours a day, but it depends on what your optomitrist gives you. YOu certainly can use them for outdoors activitys it is one of the biggest plus's of contacts except for swimming.
