I have noticed his ear seem to be dry and I was wondering is it normal or could it be the dry air in our home and is there anything we can do to help? our local pet store is closed right now) and also what can I use that is safe to wash the hamster cage, would a dish soap be okay as long as the cage is rinsed well and dry?

  1. I have 2 hamsters runing around and I know that there ears are supposted to be a bit damp but not that much wet and about the dish soap it is acually best to use dish soap and if you ever run out you can also use hand soap but remember to take the hamster out before you wash the cage!

And never give it a bath if it stinks its probably just the cage

    Good Luck

  2. Wait till tomorrow to clean the cage. Bring your hammie to the pet store and talk to someone there and they can probably help you. Dont use dish soap. All soaps are different and could hurt your hamster. Water should be just fine, but if you want to use more than that, pet stores sell special cage spray and wipes that kill bacteria and germs!! Good Luck!! ^_^

  3. I'm not exactly sure but i don't think you suppose to use soap at all.

  4. His ears are fine & I would use cage cleaner from a pet store like petsmart or petco

  5. His ear is fine remember hes a rodent if something is wrong he can fix it and with cleaning just use water.GOOD LUCK=)

  6. Well I dont know about the ears but to clean your hamsters cage you can use regular dish soap just dont over do it and make sure to rins is compleatly and I know hamsters like shredded paper alot. they use it as a home and to chew on.:) Hope this helps.

  7. what do you mean dry?.. they arent supposed to be wet... and if its a mild soap yes but not a lot just alil but it would be best to get soap that is for hamsters
