A few questions about learning japenese?

Okay my first question is I want to learn Japanese. I am in JC right now and they are offering second term Japanese, so, so I need to take first term before second? Now my second question is, if I do have to wate a full year to take my class what is the next best way to learn Japenese. I want to learn is as soon as possible so, if there is anything out there please let me know. Thanks!!

If you have computer access in your home you can study nihongo online. There are a lot of freewebsites offering Free nihongo language. All you have to do is allot time and effort in it.

The best site I can recommend you is japanese.about.com it is very comprehensive and user friendly. In fact I learned my basic nihongo using this site. I'm not sure about the systems in formal schools for studying nihongo but one thing I'm sure of is that JLPT is done annually ever Dec 2. so if you plan to take it I guess you have to take it next year.
