I've been doing my research on the internet and though I've been asking a few random questions here and there I've now come up with a few I'd love answered.

I'm Australian and planning to go to Canada in December. I've never been out of the country before and only ever been on a plane once. My questions are:

Do I need a visa to go there?

If so what kind?

I have read that I can stay up to six months with out one, is this true? ( I always thought you needed some kind of visa to visit a different country )

Also I'm on the pill and would like to continue to be so over there, would I be allowed to take them with me? How do I go about that?

  1. If your stay in Canada is less than 6 months a passport would suffice.  Longer visits than 6 months may require more than a passport and it would also depend on what Australia requires when you come back after a longer than 6 month stay as well as the country that you are visiting  Check with Australia officials on that one.  No you do not need a visa to visit most countries.  (visiting meaning less than 6 months.)

As for the pill, I advise you to make sure that you bring enough supply to take care of the time you will be gone.  Most doctors prescriptions are good only in the country that they originate in.  Better to be safe than sorry.

  2. check online at the canadian consulate they will have a list on there website

  3. you shouldnt need a visa for 6 months or less. i went to germany in november for my sweet 16 and mexico for christmas with just my passport and i was fine there werent any problems with that. i dont think they would give you a problem with the pills, im on a few medications and nobody gave us a problem bringing them into germany and mexico.
