thinking sophmore year from about january to june... the program i have looked at so far is AFS...
1. how will i be able to make up classes to graduate with my class? i know that i can't transfer any classes i take in foreign countries. people at my school who have gone away for a year or semester have been taking extra classes to make up for what they missed. when are these classes and can i take them before i go away?
2. what are the odds that i will be placed somewhere in the middle of nowhere with no scenery, or extracurriculars? i know on the AFS website, they say you will probably be able to pursue afterschool activities such as sports, music, art, etc. and see landmarks and culture for that country, but my mom pointed out that somewhere else on the site it says that there is a chance that you will not be able to.
3. i hear there is another program where all you have to pay for is the plane ticket? i think it starts with an R... any ideas what it is?
