  1. When it reaches it's highest point it's

    vertical velocity = zero

    v=40*sin(32)-g*t

    or

    0=40*sin(32)-9.8*t

    9.8*t = 40*sin(32)

    so

    t= 2.163 seconds to get to the top

    same time to get down

    total time = 2*2.163 = 4.326 seconds

    You didn't ask, but how high did the football go:

    height = 40 * Sin(32) * 2.163 - 0.5 * 9.8 * 2.163 ^ 2=22.92m

    ck=0.5 * 9.8 * 2.163 ^ 2=22.92m

  2. depends on various factors of course

  3. V(initial) = 40sin32 up

    g           = 9.8 down

    d(vert)    = 0

       0 = 40sin32t  - 4.9tt

       0 =  t (  40sin32 - 4.9t)

        t =0 and  t = (40sin32)/4.9

                        = 4.3 sec

  4. using kinematics equation.

    v=u+at

    0=40sin32 - 9.81t

    t= (40sin32)/9.81

    note that this is the time taken to reach the top. u need to multiply the answer by 2 to include the time taken to travel back down....
