  1. Possibly. The berries contain seeds that can be dried and planted.

    However...there's no guarantee that the resulting plant will produce berries exactly like the ones your friend gave you (and btw it will be several years before it's large enough to do so). Many varieties of blackberries are specially propagated by cuttings (in order to create a number of baby plants with the same qualities as the original one)...and I would suggest you try that method instead. Ask your friend for a piece of his/her plant this coming spring as soon as it begins to leaf out again!
