Question:

A friend gave me some raw chicken sushi. It was pretty good! But, is it authentic Japanese food?

You've got to be kidding me! Really? They specialise in so much raw stuff? Wow! I never knew! Do they bleach the meats before serving???

  1. i was watching "no reservations" on the travel chanel and while in japan the guy did eat chicken that was seared real fast, it was still really raw. imagine ahi tuna but it was chicken. i dont think i would eat it but apparently they do in japan.

  2. Raw chicken isn't a good idea.  Though chicken is used in some authentic Japanese dishes, true sushi is seafood or vegetables only.

  3. You should never eat raw chicken!  You can get extremely sick (and die) from it.  Utensils and cutting boards that have touched raw chicken need to be thoroughly washed before you use them for anything else....

  4. There are restaurants in Japan that actually specialize in raw items - chicken, beef and of course, fish. It has got to be extremely fresh, however, and storing these kinds of food items at very cold temperatures kills any bacteria they might contain.
