  1. If it was me, I would arrange a lesson or two with a driving instructor, as it has changed sooooo much in 12 years, traffic wise.

  2. Send him to a driving school, there are many around for all ages

  3. he might need to take a re-fresher course in this,my dad didn't drive for a few years while he was sick and when he started driving again it was scary,he was all over the road and going very slow,it took him a while to get back at driving,so it might be a good idea to suggest a driving lesson or two it may help them get back in to driving a lot faster, and safer, good luck with it.

  4. I'd seriously suggest he talks to a good local driving instructor, with a view to getting some refresher lessons.

An ADI isn't just for passing your test, they can help anyone become a better driver!

  5. Ah, so he has noticed that driving today is a life threatening activity. He had better have a couple of lessons so that the instructor can tell him how the way the present idiots are taught to drive. Oh, he should remember that courtesy is out and so is patience.

  6. If he has a valid license he doesn't need to have L or P plates (P plates probably wouldn't hurt though).  I'd suggest he has a lesson or a few lessons with a local driving instructor.  They can take him somewhere quiet to he can refresh his memory on how to drive.

  7. it would be ilegal to drive with L or P plates and not require them  just book some refresher training

  8. drive in the middle of the night there is less traffic and it is not that much of an issue if you make a mistake, also higher an instructor learn the rules of the road again
