The army attorney can't help. He is a US citizen and the wife is Canadian. He is stationed in Germany.

  1. Wow.. Well, there is NO reason why the military wouldn't help. He should be able to talk to legal on base for help. They are there for military members. On every base.

So, either this friend is lying, or just isn't knowledgeable.

  2. It depends on how complicated his situation is.  If there is no property (house) and no children, he can hire a US based parallegal office to file for divorce pretty inexpensivly.  $500-$800.  Preferred Legal in Brea, CA did it for me.  But, if they have custody or property issues, he should retain an attorney.

  3. Yeah I agree with the first answer. The military is very knowledgable in this department and there are attorneys on every base. I have a list of their numbers and everything for our base up here in Maryland.
