It really depends on if he is tried as an adult or a juvenile. ( I rather think it would be as an adult though, and assault with a deadly weapon or attempted murder can carry anywhere between 10-12 years or 15-20-life) It will also depend on any mandatory sentencing in your state, and any past criminal history.
