Yes, esspecialy if it was along relationship. Everything that he/she thought they knew through out their marriage is being re evaluated. It will take so time and a good friend to be a listener and advise giver.

Totally! I am going through a divorce myself and can go through some pretty crazy mood swings. When you are going through a divorce, your whole world is being turned upside down and there are so many emotions involved that it is sometimes hard to keep them in check. For example today I went from being actually pretty happy and joking in the morning to feeling sad and crying on my way home from work. Granted some issues with the ex precipitated the crying but, there still was a definite swing. All I can say is be supportive and don't take it personal if they aren't always the way you are used to them being.
