My friend said it is possible to get a certain type of tattoo that lasts 2-5 years, but then fades away to nothing. Is this true? Any information would be gratefully received!

  1. Doubt it.

  2. I knew someone who had a "fade away" tattoo on her lower back. It was originally a swirly black pattern, but after 3 years or so its a brown scar... there is an actual scar as well even if the brown dose continue to fade. Dont do it! Henna or a real tatt no halfways!

  3. Only with glow in the dark/black light activated or metallic ink

  4. Ye i know what your talking about u can get tattoos that last for 5 years i almost got one a few years ago.

Aparently they dnt work tho and alota people have been left stuck with them.

  5. maybe your friend is confused with the fact that sometimes you need to get them re-touched/re-coloured every so often?

  6. NO. You can get henna or a real tattoo. My mum got one of those so said 'it will fade away in 5 years blablah' tattoos. Now it's ten years since then, and it's an ugly brown patch. All this thing is really, that people who have no idea what they are doing, usually in highly doubtable hygenic conditions offer these cosmetic tattoos, thay are normally done by beauticians and hairdressers.

  7. There are some tattoo "people" (I will not call them artists) that use inferior equipment with inferior techniques and call it semi-permanent.  What happens is that the ink fades out badly because they do not know how to tattoo.  The problem with this is that it never completely goes away in most cases, no matter how long you wait so you need to have it completely reworked.

There is a company called Freedom 2 that is going to be selling their black soon that can be removed with one shot of a laser and they are working on the first ink that will fade away in a pre-determined amount of time but I don't see that being available for a very long time.

  8. might be talkin bout henna tattos not sure they arent permanent more temp makeup on the skin thats meant to be really nice actually

  9. Tatoos will fade and lose colour over time anyway which is why you see older people with tatoos that look 'washed out'. This is because you skin will peel over time with bathing, showering etc. Also exposing thearea to the sun on holiday for instance will fade the pigment in any tatoo. Hope this helps.

  10. I googled your question, and the only answer I can get is henna, and they last only 2-3 weeks, just like the first person who answered said. Sorry.

  11. Yes I saw this type advertised a few years ago .But have never met any one who had it done or if they can still do it .They told me in the shop it lasted for about 5 to 7 years .But can't see the point,of this type of tattoo
