  1. That's precisely what the current England management think. Matt Prior, Geraint Jones, Tim Ambrose, Phil Mustard.....none of these players are wicket-keepers. They are average batsmen who have taken up wicket keeping to get a place in the side.

I think Ian Bell would make an excellent wicket -keeper. He's small, agile, has quick reactions, and is used to fielding close to the bat.

So that's England's problem solved then!

  2. Herschelle Gibbs. He has great reflexes, and also keys up his team mates all the time.

  3. Andrew Symonds, he is such a good fielder & fast as well.

  4. Mohd. Kaif.

For catching a ball your hands need not necessarily look like buckets but you should be vigilent ( always alert) .

If that would be the case than cricket might have been played with fielders holding big buckets in their hands for holding catches.

kaif is a very flexible player who can definitely do better behind the stumps.

Also no doubt about his alertness on the gound.

  5. Younis Khan stayed as wicketkeeper for Pakistan in their third match of the Paktel Cup, against Sri Lanka at Karachi on October 6, 2004. "Younis will keep wicket," Inzamam-ul-Haq told Reuters, "because Moin [Khan] has still not recovered from his illness."

Moin had gone down with flu before the one-dayer against Zimbabwe at Peshawar on Sunday. Younis took over the wicketkeeping duties and performed his role with aplomb. Not only did he keep for the entire Zimbabwe innings without conceding a bye, he also won the Man-of-the-Match award for his 77 off 86 balls. Bob Woolmer, the, Pakistan coach, has since proposed that Younis could become a more regular one-day wicketkeeper in the near future.

  6. Inzamam can give a lot of lessons to wicketkeepers for how it shouldn't be done.

  7. Brett Lee - his hands are huge plus hes athletic and can move after the ball really quickly.

  8. This isn't a fun question HOLMES!

But cricket is funny and Sangakkara is better batsman but Boucher is better keeper but cricket is funny.

    Orale Vato!

  9. Shahid Afridi!

  10. Monty Panesar- Have you see the size of his hands lol. There like buckets!!!. (if only he didn't have the atlethicism and reaction time of a 60 year old man eh....)

  11. I always thought that Ricky Ponting would make a good wicket keeper, he's got the enthusiasm, athleticism and good hands required. Also Aravinda de Silva, in his youth at least, would have had all the attributes you need.

  12. I think of Hayden there.

  13. Hashan Tillekeratne, former Batsman and Test Captain of Sl for a short period has kept wickets. But like Herscelle Gibbs was a wicket keeper previously anyway.

Inzi would hace been funny behind the stumps.
