Question:

A gap year in russia.. would I become fluent if I spoke absolutely NO ENGLISH? ?

I would be going there with a basic understanding of the language, as I've been learning it since grade 2 in school instead of french or spanish, and I would try to speak absolutely no english, do you think that after at least 6 monthes if not a year, that I would be able to speak it relatively fluently?

note: I wouldn't stay for the winter, I'd be in austrailia for that, so probably it would be more like...hmmm...august, september, october, march, april, may..ish

  1. Очень даже запросто, если вы будете постоянно думать и спрашивать, как надо говорить и почему надо говорить именно так, и, конечно, работать над произношением.


  2. You'd be able to speak it very well, but I don't think you'd be fluent. However, since you started before the language learning cutoff age, you may be able to blend in much better than you think (proper pronunciation and all that).
