A gift for my niece and nephew?

They have been away from home due to unnecessary circumstances and we are all very happy to have them back. I know it was very hard to be away from their mother and father considering what happened anyway, my nephew is two and niece is nine. I figure my nephew maybe a teddy bear, but my niece I have know idea my oldest is a boy and he is eight do girls still like Barbie dolls what should I get her besides welcome home balloons?

its been a while since I was 9, but I was really into stickers, stamps, and writing.  a cute little diary that locks may be a good idea, and may add some sense of security to a previously rocky situation.  Good luck!

If I was you, I would get her a Webkinz, maybe a puppy r her favorite animal. If I was her I would want one, since they are popular and most kids LOVE them. I know that there are people from around 8-12 that play with them. But even though it partly requires the Internet you may want to stick to something that has to do with Hannah Montana Because she is really popular right now. Some other ideas would be Camp Rock, High School Musical(1 and 2), Sponge Bob (might have outgrown by now though), Bratz, and Littlest Pet Shop.

You could also go to a Disney store and ask them. Hope she likes your gift!

I remember wanting to experiment with make up so I nice girly make up set is nice you know just one with lip gloss and eye shadow, or I know the bratz dolls are popular! Or maybe a new DVD, high school musical, hairspray.

If you have a rough idea of what sort of music she likes, she's not too old to be too fussy about which band, singer, it is (unlike a 14yr old). Plus she'd appreciate something more grown up like that?

I would get the 9 yr old a gift card to Wal-Mart or somewhere similar. I have 7 and 9 yr old daughters and I could list a lot of things they like. But they LOVE getting a gift card. My kids do not get allowance so this is like gold to them LOL They also like paying for their own stuff with a gift card because it is kind of like a credit card, they even carry it in their wallet, its cute though they think they look so grown up.

i wouldn't go with a teddy bear-too common, he can get that from anyone. get him a little truck with moving lights or something that makes a little noise, he'll love it!! the girl-i wouldn't go with barbies, she is at the age where she is getting into lipgloss and friends. a good choice would be, mabey a lisa frank set, the ones that have the girly markers and color posters, there are tons to choose from. mabey a little baggie of lip-smackers and some bubble bath. a cd would be good, however you probably don't know what kind of music she is into. they also sell make your own kits, about 10 at walmart. like sand and candle sets, bracelet sets with beads, etc. i would stay away from dolls and baby dolls, she is starting to get out of the " play-time" thing. btw-my son is 12, my daughter is 12, my other son is 8, and i have 2 sisters, and 3 nieces all younger than 10!!!

Barbie dolls are loved by some girls, hated by others.  Your niece might like paper and colored pencils, Nancy Drew books, jewelry, or she may appreciate a stuffed animal, too.  A diary and a nice pen would be inexpensive and would actually help her to express her feelings which is very important since you mentioned that she has been away from home due to "unnecessary circumstances".  If you get her a journal/diary, though, explain that it is okay for her to hide it so these thoughts can be hers alone, and tell her that under her bed is not a good place for it!  :)

I have a female cousin who is about 9 years old. She's really into Hannah Montana and High School Musical. Buy her a Hannah Montana T-Shirt or something. Wal-Mart, believe it or not, actually sells a variety of Hannah Montana shirts.

As for the boy, the new Batman movie and Indiana Jones action figures are the big toy right now. But since he's only two, maybe jus get him a toy batmobile. I'm sure you'll do fine.

i'm 14 and i still like barbie dolls lol well anyways my cuzin 9 and she likes to play with hair and stuff what about art stuff does she like to paint or cooking stuff to help her mom cook idk lots of things changed these days i hope some of this helps
