  1. Wow! She must have really clean hair! Nit's only like clean hair to live in. They wont live in dirty hair, it must be really clean.

Nits wont hurt you. Stop worrying so much. Theres nothing you can do unless the school notices themselves and inform the parents.

  2. put a mask on, pin her down and shave her head.

  3. If her mom isn't using a medicated shampoo like Rid, just washing the hair won't help.  She should also be cleaning her hairbrush.  If the lice are resistant to Rid, then there are meds you can get from a doctor that will work.

  4. Tell your parents. There is a very good chance she will infect everyone else. The parents need to band together to have this girl sent home til her parents deal with her lice problem.

EDIT------No nits may not hurt you but if they are crawling around then they are lice and lice is a HUGE problem.

Edit--SOFTBALL  Calling someone a ***** and a brat is ridiculous. If my best friend had lice I would not hang out with them til the lice was gone!! Her hair may be clean now but explain how she got lice and nits in the first place! Having lice does not mean some one is unclean or nasty (unlike your attitude) but NO ONE wants to get lice from anyone else. pleope can shampoo their hair every day but that does not mean it is squeaky clean, afterall the majority of people use mousse, gel and hair spray AFTER shampooing.

  5. It is most likely because her mother is not following all the directions on getting rid of the head lice in this child.  Not only do you have to use a special germicide shampoo, you have to use a fine tooth comb on each hair shaft to remove the "nits" or eggs off of the hair shaft. And then you need to follow up on the shampoo within (I believe) 2 days to rid the hair of new eggs.It is also very important to make sure no one else in the household is carrying the head lice and that all of the bedding, furniture, carpets and anything that came into contact with her head is properly cleaned, vacumed and sprayed to kill these little critters.

It takes a lot of patience, persistance and follow up to finally rid a household of head lice, but the main remedy is to follow exact directions on the head lice control shampoo and make sure ALL of the family members are being treated because most likely, especially other siblings, also have head lice.

I feel sorry for this girl, and I am wondering why her teacher or the school nurse or health department has not stepped in to help her parents with proper treatment of this infestation.

What you can do is not to make fun of this girl, but to educate yourself on this and learn what you can do if you should become infested with head lice. You should have your Mum check your head daily, as you obviously have come in close contact with this girl and.

Go to the following web site for information on head lice.

  6. Tell the teacher again. I heard that you aren't allowed to go to school with nits in your hair.
